Shooting Stars continued to ride high in the Nigeria Premier League stretching their unbeaten run in the league to five games with their first away win of the season against Ocean Boys of Yenagoa at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
The Oluyole Warriors scored two second half goals through Phillip Asuquo and Tony Edomariegwe after falling behind in the first half of the match with Ocean Boys scoring from the spot after being awarded a penalty for a foul.
Akindele Toluwase returned to Shooting Stars team for the first time this season after impressing during the week in training. Emmanuel Daniel was again preferred in goal to Dele Ajiboye who could only make the bench.
Seun Akinyemi made way for Sylvanus Ebiakwu in the right back with Mutiu Adegoke back from suspension that saw him miss the last game at home to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi.
The duo of Moses Ogaga and Gabriel Adikwu got the nod upfront with ever reliable Asuquo and Edomariegwe starting from the middle.
Ocean Boys took the lead in the first half from the spot through Onorode Odah after a foul on an Ocean Boys striker in the 24th minute of the game.
Asuquo put the Oluyole Warriors back into the game with a brilliant finish in the second half of the match. The goal was Asuquo's first in the colours of Shooting Stars since joining from Crown FC of Ogbomosho.
3SC now have 42 points from 28 games played so far and are now just four points within touching distance of the league leaders Rangers of Enugu and Enyimba of Aba who both lost away from home.
