Two Lagos based clubs beat other teams to qualify for the National Finals and will represent the South West
Two Lagos based club sides Mandiba Football club of Oshodi and Sheriff FC of Lagos Island have qualified to represent the South West in the national finals of the Gulder 5-A-Side Football competition.
Mandiba defeated Rise and Shine 2-0, while Sheriff beat D Time FC from Ibafo in Ogun State 1-0 in the semi-finals.
Mandiba captain Ali Bello thanked God for making it to the finals of the competition.
"We are grateful to God because He has been with us from the beginning to the end. Now that we are in the finals, we are going to prepare well so that we can do well in Lagos," Bello said.
Sheriff captain Husseini Olayemi noted that they will be prepared for whatever will happen in Lagos.
"We know it is going to be serious business in Lagos so we are going to be ready for the other clubs that will come from other zones.
"It will be tough, but I think we can cope with the rigours of the game in Lagos. We have about two weeks to train and that will give us the edge over other teams.
"I am sure we are going to be ready for the National Finals," Husseini said.
