The current highest goal scorer in the league says he will be fit for the top of the bill clash against the Aba side
Nigeria Premier League leading goals scorer Chikeluba Ofoedu has revealed that he will be fit for Enugu Rangers’ game against Enyimba this weekend after the injury he sustained in the match against Rising Stars forced him out of training for two days.
Ofoedu, who has scored 10 goals so far, told Goal.com that doctors have given him the go-ahead to start training on Wednesday.
"Yes I was injured in the game against Rising Stars where I was taken out in the first half because of the defenders that kicked me when I was not with the ball.
"I have not trained for two days now. What I have been doing is to just walk round the pitch when other players are out there training.
"But the team doctors have assured me that I can resume training on Wednesday. I will definitely play against Enyimba this weekend in Aba. This is one match that no player will want to miss.
"I am happy my substitution in the game against Rising Stars did not affect the team as they gave their best to win 3-1.
"I have rested enough and I am going to use the three days’ training to prepare myself for the game against Enyimba.
"I think we can get something out of that game because we have a good team this season.
"For me it is not about getting scoring goals but for the team to do well against Enyimba in Aba on Sunday," Ofoedu said.
Rangers are presently topping the league table with 46 points from 26 matches and Ofoedu has been an important part of that success story.
