The competition has provided the youths with a positive thing to think about
Some of the coaches and players at the third leg of the 2012 Gulder 5-A-Side competition have been giving kudos to the sponsors and the organisers of the nationwide tournament.
Prophet Ebere George, the proprietor and coach of Kings FC, who made it to the third round told Goal.com that Nigeria needs more of such sporting events so that our youth will be positively engaged.
"There is no doubt that Gulder 5-A-Side is helping to reduce negative thoughts in our youths," said George.
"I know when some teams have been preparing for this tournament and you can see from the crowd here that it is a successful tournament. Other companies should do such for other sports and we will surely see our youths developing and our country growing," George concluded.
Meanwhile the organisers revealed that they are happy with the Port Harcourt zone. "The weather, the pitch and the turnout of the teams have been exceptional," said Chimnoya Kabiri of Mastersports, the organisers of the event.
"We are also happy that more teams are taking it serious as we have seen from the quality of the games."
The next leg kicks off in Warri, Delta State on Friday, May 18.
