Brendan Ogbu assures of Heartland’s Confederation Cup progression
The former Rangers striker is sure his side will qualify for the next stage of the Confederation Cup against Congolese side AC Leopards in Brazzaville
With barely 24 hours to their second leg Caf Confederation Cup tie in Congo, Heartland’s Brendan Ogbu has assured Nigerians to relax and watch what the team will do against AC Leopards in Brazzaville.
The Naze Millionaires will go into the second leg encounter with a slim 3-2 advantage but Ogbu who was the hero in the club’s last two matches in the African club competition told Goal.com that all was well in Heartland’s camp as they have resolved to do what would be enough to scale through the hurdle.
“I have told you that we are going to Brazzaville to shock our opponents. They will be under pressure to score the decisive goal and they will leave their guards open which will give us an advantage to get some away goals.
"I am so confident that we are going to qualify because we have a good team. If AC Leopards can score two goals in Owerri, we can also do the same in Brazzaville,” Ogbu said.
The lanky striker was responsible for the winning strike against Unisport Haut Nkam of Cameroon in the second round, while he also conjured up same magic when he netted within seconds of his introduction against AC Leopards two weeks ago.
