The second leg of Gulder 5 A-side begins with players and coaches hopeful of qualifying for the finals in Lagos
The Enugu leg of Gulder 5 A-Side Football competition kicked off this morning at the Rangers International football pitch.
The Enugu leg comes after the Makurdi centre kick started the competition last week. Over 100 football clubs drawn from Enugu, Owerri, Mbaise, Abakiliki, Onitsha and Awka will participate in the competition which is in its third year.
All the teams expressed confidence that they would qualify for the national finals which comes up next month in Lagos.
Willy Udube, coach of AV Football club of Owerri, told Goal.com that he is hopeful of leading his side to Lagos for the last leg of the competition.
"I have a good team and I am optimistic that I can lead them to do well here in Enugu before moving to Lagos. It is not as if I am underrating any team because I don't know any of them, but I am sure that I have good players that can qualify for the finals in Lagos," Udube said.
The competition comes to an end on Sunday.
