Peter Odemwingie in line to scoop West Brom goal of the season award

The Nigerian striker is West Brom’s leading scorer and could land the goal of the season award on Friday
Nigerian striker, Peter Odemwingie, who has scored 10 league goals for West Brom in the 2011/12 season, has had three of those 10 goals nominated for the Baggies' goal of the season award.

The striker scored his 10th English Premier League goal of season last week against Liverpool at Anfield and 25 overall in two seasons matching a long-standing West Brom record for 27 years.

His goal in the Baggies 2-0 win over Wolves on October 16 at the Hawthorns is rated goal A, while his strikes against Blackburn on December 17 and Newcastle away on December 21 which ended in a 2-1 and 3-2 wins respectively were rated E and F.

West Brom fans are to vote for the team's Goal of the Season - in the club's official poll on Facebook (

The voting procedure will close on Friday, May 4, at 5pm. The winning player will be announced and presented with the award at the final home game of the season against Arsenal on Sunday, May 13.

Other players in contention for the award include Paul Scharner, Steven Reid, James Morrison, Simon Cox, Keith Andrews and Graham Dorrans.
