Just after he helped his team get a valuable draw in the Caf Confederation Cup, the midfielder heard he had lost his father
The Super Eagles midfielder lost his father, Pa Nwabueze Joseph Ossai , while he was away in Sierra Leone where he was part of the Wolves' side that played out a goalless draw against FC Kallon in the Caf Confederation Cup.
According to a family source, the late Pa Ossai who has been down with stroke for some time died on Sunday evening at a private hospital in Warri.
Wolves' media officer Timi Ebikagboro told Goal.com that Ossai will now definitely miss the game against Gombe United.
"He is out of the game as he will not be able to concentrate on the game," said Ebikagboro.
According to Uche, his late father was a pillar to him and other members of the family while alive as he always taught him that hard work is the only way to achieving a man’s goals in life.
The hard working midfielder said he will mostly miss his father now when it seems his career is on the rise and the man who has been a pillar to him will not be there to savour the success, like every other father would love to do.
Uche added that most painful to him was that he was not in the country when his father passed on but takes solace that his efforts in Freetown led to his club picking a very valuable draw.
Pa Ossai was born on the 5th of August 1941, and hails from Umuchime Ogume, Ndokwa-West LGA of Delta State. Burial arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
