The Fiorentina boss says he admires the Argentine-born Italy international ahead of his side's match against Roma this SaturdayFiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has revealed his fondness for Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo.
The Viola, fourth, and the Giallorossi, fifth, are set to clash on Saturday evening in the Serie A in a game which could have implications on the third and final Champions League spot for next season.
Speaking ahead of the game, Montella has picked out Osvaldo as a player he likes a lot, adding to the rumours that the Argentine native could be set for a summer switch.
"[Francesco] Totti remains an important player and [Erik] Lamela is great too. But, I like Osvaldo a lot," Montella said at a press conference.
"Roma have beaten us twice already this season, between the Serie A and the Coppa Italia, and are a team full of talent."
With Fiorentina sitting just one point behind third-placed Milan and Roma a further six points behind Montella's men in fifth place, Saturday's meeting of the two sides at the Stadio Franchi has been billed as a European play-off.
"It will be a head-to-head for Europe. This game will be decisive in this respect," Montella continued.
“There are some things that seem impossible, but right now the objective is real. We believe in ourselves and working like this I am sure we’ll get the results we deserve.
"The Giallorossi are a team I particularly fear out of all our opponents this season. But, the pressure is on Milan, who expect to get third place. As for us, we can enjoy ourselves a little more while still having aspirations.
"The crowd will give us that added support and [Stevan] Jovetic will play. He could have scored last week. I expect more from him this time round".
