Donadoni wary of Cavani threat
The Parma coach has warned his players that the Uruguayan will be capable of causing them problems when they meet on Sunday, and says his side must learn from past mistakes
Parma boss Roberto Donadoni has warned his players of the threat posed by Edinson Cavani ahead of their clash with Napoli on Sunday. The 43-year-old singled out the Uruguayan forward as a player capable of threatening his side, but insists he will not encourage his players to give him any special attention.
"It will not be easy to stop the league's top-scorer," he told reporters.
"He is a great forward who often makes the difference, but I won't tell my defenders to do anything special against him."
The former Italy boss went on to urge his troops to learn from their mistakes this season, for instance when they played the Partenopei earlier their season.
"Napoli have great quality, with players that are fit and technically strong. This has cost us the first match, so we have to be careful to not concede on counters.
"We conceded an early goal because of stupidity and that changed the match. Going one goal down against Napoli can be fatal."
The Gialloblu are yet to taste defeat at home in Serie A this season, but Donadoni believes their impressive record at the Ennio Tardini will not play to his team's advantage.
He added: "Playing at home or away doesn't matter: the pitch is the same, we need good balance to stay short and play tight as a team."
