Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin has thanked coach Andrea Stramaccioni for his recent run of goalscoring form.
The 26-year-old has scored five times in his last 10 outings for the club after being given additional license to roam forward in the final third.
And the Colombia international admits he "loves" his new role and believes a switch to a 3-4-3 formation has brought the very best out of him in recent weeks.
“I love Stramaccioni's idea," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"It was good to see that my new role has worked out well. I'm not sure I can afford not to help the team in defence, but my defensive duties are less demanding than in the past."
Guarin scored in Inter's 3-2 extra time victory over Bologna on Tuesday, as the Nerazzurri progressed to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.
The win means they will now face Roma as they bid for a place in the final of the competition, with the Giallorossi also their opponents in Serie A this weekend.
