Moratti furious with 'incapable' referees following Inter's draw with Cagliari
The Nerazzurri supremo is adamant that poor officiating has been to blame for their poor run of results, claiming that their disappointing form comes as no coincidence
Massimo Moratti has launched a stinging attack on the state of refereeing in Italy following Inter's 2-2 draw with Cagliari in Serie A on Sunday. The Milanese giants needed a late Davide Astori own goal to come away with a point after Marco Sau's pair of strikes cancelled out Rodrigo Palacio's opener, but they were left to rue Piero Giacomelli's decision not to award Andrea Ranocchia a penalty in stoppage time.
The failure to flag Astori's apparent foul on the Italy defender has since left a bad taste in the mouth of the Inter president, who is in little doubt that their run of two league matches without a win has been due to poor officiating.
"In the match with Juve, it was all good for us. In the match against Atalanta, it was all good for us," Moratti sarcastically told reporters.
"Ask yourselves this. Did you see the games? I may be biased, but these mistakes are being continually repeated. These referees seem incapable.
"I hope that a pattern does not emerge because this inability is getting stupid. It is now three games in a row that we have been on the receiving end of refereeing injustices and it's preventing us from getting results."
