Nocerino: It's madness to criticise AC Milan
The versatile midfielder feels there's a lack of respect toward the 2011 Serie A champions, and believes they deserve better than being viciously attacked
Antonio Nocerino has voiced his dismay with the negative attitude shown towards AC Milan so far this season. The San Siro side have been in disappointing form in the opening weeks of the 2012-13 campaign as they sit only joint 11th in the Serie A table after seven games, but the former Juventus man feels the criticism of the club is out of place.
"It often sounds as if we're talking about just any club, but Milan are Milan. People need to have respect for this club. Milan deserve some recognition. It's utter madness to criticise the club like this," Nocerino told reporters.
"Milan have made history and you can't forget what the club has achieved in the past. Milan are a very important team, the most successful side in the world.
"Seeing Milan so far down the table just seems wrong to me. We need to work hard to get back on track. We want to rise again and give continuity to this club."
Milan resume Serie A action on Saturday away against Lazio.
