Agent: Zarate desperate to return to Lazio

Inter had the option to sign the Argentine on a permanent basis following his loan spell at San Siro, but the forward now seems certain to go back to the Stadio Olimpico
Mauro Zarate's agent has revealed that his client is desperate to return to Lazio, explaining that the forward "misses everything" about the club.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Inter, who retain the option to buy the Argentine, but Biancocelesti director Igli Tare recently suggested that they now want the player back.

Zarate's representative, Luis Rozzi, has been buoyed by that revelation as his client has his heart set on a return to Rome.

"I'm happy that Tare has declared that they consider Zarate a valuable asset to the club," he told Corriere dello Sport.

"Everyone knows that Mauro left last summer because Lazio wanted to send him away and that the conditions were not right for him to stay.

"Now Mauro wants to return to Lazio and he would like to go back in the same way in which he arrived in 2008. He misses the derby against [Francesco] Totti; he misses everything."

Zarate initially joined the Lazio on loan from Birmingham City but completed a permanent move to the Italian capital the following year.
