The 2011 and 2012 Copa do Brasil runners-up have revealed the departure of the home-grown defender to the Ligue 1 outfit
The 22-year-old has won two Paranaense state championships with the Alviverde and the club revealed the impending transfer on their website, though no financial details have been released.
A product of the Coxa youth system, the Brazilian declared that although his love for the club ran deep, the chance to play in Europe was too good to resist.
"It is a moment that every athlete hopes for, but it hurts the heart," Lucas said in a statement on the club's official website.
"Of course I want to go overseas, to play in a competitive league and with great stars, but I have spent much of my life here, with Coxa, a club that I always supported and really respected."
Lucas played 139 games for Coritiba, who will retain a 10 per cent sell on clause, and was also included among the preliminary names for the Olympic Brazil squad.
