La Paillade are just one point away from becoming Ligue 1 champions, but the Evreux-born midfielder still believes the Paris club can grab the crown
With only one matchday to go, Montpellier need a just a point from the game against rock bottom Auxerre to secure their first league title, but second-placed PSG will be lying in wait for any mistakes.
"Of course we still believe we can win the title, otherwise we wouldn't be travelling to Lorient, and we'll be giving the trophy to Montpellier already", Bodmer stated in an interview to France Football.
"We have to do our part, get three points, and then we have to wait for them to make the only mistake of their season."
PSG have spent more than €100 million on new players this season since the Qatar Investment Authority bought the club.
However, les Parisiens are close to losing out on the league title to Montpellier, a team that has spent no more than €2m on transfers in the same period.
Despite that, Bodmer believes that the season has been a success.
"Given the changes in the club - new players, new investors - and all the fuss around PSG, I believe this was a good season. The priority was reaching a Champions League spot, something we already secured, and that is a very good thing", the midfielder said.
The 29-year-old also revealed he hopes to renew his contract with the Paris side in the next few weeks, and that he's excited about the prospect of playing Champions League football next season.
"This is a very interesting project for any football player, and I always said I'm in Paris to win titles," he concluded.
