Team of the Week

Przemyslaw Tyton
PSV & Poland

Wojciech Szczesny featured in our first Euro 2012 Team of the Week two weeks ago, but the Poland No. 1 might soon have some competition in front of goal for the national team. Tyton played well for PSV over the weekend, and was Man of the Match on Wednesday as his side secured their second victory over Heerenveen in less than a week.

Anthony Reveillere
Lyon & France

Jordi Alba

Lyon were victorious twice over the last week and conceded just once. Much of the credit for the side's success can be attributed to veteran Reveillere, who along with Hugo Lloris, was arguably his team's most influential player of the week.

It was no easy task, but Sokratis nullified Dortmund attacker Robert Lewandowski as both a threat on goal and a provider. Werder were unable to win the weekend clash, but not for lack of effort - or merit - from the Greek centre-back.

Bayern held opponents scoreless for 210 minutes during the last seven days, including a nail-biter against Monchengladbach. Faced with the Bundesliga's top performer of the season, Badstuber limited Marco Reus' chances to make a difference, and silenced both Mike Hanke and Igor de Camargo.

Barcelona have been closely linked with Alba lately and judging by his performances over the last week, it is easy to understand why. While he only came on as a substitute against Zaragoza, his inclusion is based on a sublime showing against Athletic Bilbao, during which his marauding runs forward earned him an assist and saw Andoni Iraola sent off for a foul against him.

Samir Nasri
Man City & France

Andrea Pirlo
Juventus & Italy

Urby Emanuelson
Milan & Netherlands

Nasri has not always been a starter for Manchester City this season, but he made a serious bid for more regular first-team place on Wednesday. After twice hitting the woodwork, he sealed victory over Chelsea with a cool finish late in the game.

Pirlo continues to roll back the years, and over the last week the veteran Italian gave two vintage performances. He ruled the midfield over the weekend, scoring in a 5-0 win at Fiorentina, and came back to haunt his former club Milan as he set up one goal and led Juventus to a draw to send the Bianconeri into the Coppa Italia final.

Although he had a difficult game against Juventus, Emanuelson earns top honours for his virtuoso display against Parma. The Milan man made a strong case for his inclusion in the Netherlands squad for Euro 2012 as his early shot forced a hand-ball penalty, and he later netted from open play.

Robbie Keane
LA Galaxy & Ireland

Roberto Soldado

Djibril Cisse
QPR & France

Ireland captain Keane was at the double last weekend, leading the LA Galaxy to their first win of the MLS season. Following St. Patrick's Day, the 31-year-old showed he still has plenty left in the tank.

With David Villa's fitness in question and Fernando Torres' scoring record far from convincing, Spain need a striker to step up at Euro 2012. And Soldado has risen to the challenge this season: the Valencia man registered a hat-trick against Athletic Bilbao to increase his tally to 25 goals this season in all competitions.

Cisse netted for QPR in their 3-2 victory over Liverpool in what was arguably his best performance for the club since returning to England in January. The former Lazio man was full of movement and unlucky not to have added to his tally having had a pair of efforts fly narrowly wide of the target.
