Former Real Madrid winger Steve McManaman believes that Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are currently the best players in the world.
The duo have fired Carlo Ancelotti's side into Saturday's Champions League final against Atletico Madrid and the Englishman feels that Bale, a €100 million acquisition last summer, has enjoyed an excellent first season.
"He has scored 20 goals in his first year. When he's been physically well, he's shown that he can do great things," he told Goal.
"It's been an amazing year for Bale. He also scored in the final of the Copa del Rey. Alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, I think he is the best player in the world.
"Luka Modric has had an amazing year too. I'm happy for them."
McManaman scored the second goal in Madrid's 3-0 win over Valencia in the 2000 Champions League final and the former Liverpool man is hoping the current crop can repeat the success of 14 years ago.
"Fourteen years after I won the Champions League with Real Madrid, we are all here in Lisbon again. It's a great chance for Real Madrid.
"Of course, I want Real Madrid to win. It will be a tough match. But I think if Arda Turan and Diego Costa aren't fit, it will be very tough for Atletico.
"Anyway, I think Real Madrid have more experience. I think they'll win."
