Bayern must have the desire to win every game, says Shaqiri

The winger is relishing the prospect of fighting for silverware in his first season with the Bavarians, and is pleased with how their pre-season has panned out so far

Xherdan Shaqiri is full of ambition ahead of the new season, as he claims that Bayern Munich must have the desire to win every game if they are to be successful in 2012-13.

The Switzerland international joined the Bundesliga giants from Basel this summer, and he is determined to start his German adventure on a high and challenge for top honours.

"It is important to have the desire to win every game, and come out victorious in the crucial duels. Bayern were unable to do this last season," Shaqiri stated to

"We have every position occupied pretty well, and we desperately want to win the Bundesliga title."

The winger then went on to reflect on Bayern's performances at the Liga Total! Cup, and is eagerly anticipating the DFL-Supercup against Borussia Dortmund.

"Both games at the Liga Total! Cup were good tests for us. They fit in very well in our preparation for the new season. It is important to play many games.

"We must win decisive games [like the DFL-Supercup against Dortmund]. That's all that matters at this point."

Bayern lock horns with Dortmund on August 12 to contest the first official silverware of the upcoming campaign.
