The Spain international is expected to sign with the Gunners this week before arriving in London for a medical with Arsene Wenger's side in the coming daysBy Wayne Veysey | Chief Correspondent
Arsenal are confident of overcoming a late snag in their pursuit of Santi Cazorla to sign the midfielder from Malaga for around £18 million (€22.8m) by the end of this week.
Sources have told Goal.com that the club were set to complete the signing of Cazorla on Wednesday night and schedule an immediate medical.
However, the deal suffered a late hitch over the fee and the schedule of payments for the 27-year-old Spain international.
Nonetheless, it is understood that the cost agreed by the two clubs will eventually be below £20m (€25.3m) and around the £18m (€22.8m) mark.
Sources expect Cazorla to put pen to paper on a deal this week and that he will arrive in London in the next few days to undertake a medical.
