Zlatan Ibrahimovic is desperate to join Thiago Silva in making a big money move from AC Milan to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Goal.com has learned.
The French club's Qatari owners want to clinch a €70 million double swoop, with Brazilian defender Silva set to put pen to paper as early as Wednesday on a €250,000-a-week contract.
Ibrahimovic would be valued at around €30m in the deal, and Goal.com understands the striker is unhappy in Milan and ready to push for a move to Parc des Princes.
Such an offer would tempt the cash-strapped Italian giants as they look to comply with Uefa's financial fair play regulations after reporting a €67.3m loss for the financial year in 2011.
The 30-year-old is currently playing for Sweden at Euro 2012 but is keeping track of developments as PSG prepare to step up their attempts to land a top class striker this summer.
Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain has also been linked with a switch to Paris but, with the Argentine keen to rebuff interest and stay in the Spanish capital, Ibrahimovic appears a more realistic option.
The former Juventus and Ajax man has already played for six clubs in his career and would be hugely tempted by the vast wages on offer in the French capital.
"Ibrahimovic is desperate to join PSG," a source close to the French club told Goal.com. "His representatives are also keen on negotiating one last big move for Zlatan."
Ibrahimovic, who scored 28 goals in 32 Serie A matches for the Rossoneri last season, is regarded as one of the most devastating forwards in Europe.
PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti is looking to former club Milan as he looks to improve a squad that finished second in Ligue 1 last season, three points behind champions Montepellier.
Thiago Silva is another key part of Ancelotti’s plan and has been in Paris discussing a €45m transfer from San Siro.
The signing of the 27-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester City, would be a massive statement of intent from PSG as they look to become a major force in European football.
