Draxler admits to Bayern dream

The 20-year-old is determined to move to one of the "best teams in Europe" in the future but is happy with life at current club Schalke
Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler believes playing for Bayern Munich in the future would help cement his status as a world class player.

The Germany international has been linked with a variety of teams across Europe, most notably Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid, but signed a new contract at the Veltins Arena in May.

However, he has now revealed his admiration for his side's rivals but emphasised his gratitude towards his current employers.

“Players like Basti [Bastian Schweinsteiger] and Philipp Lahm are the best soccer players of our generation,” he told WAZ.

“That’s why Bayern are in my opinion the best team in the world, and I think that world class players always play for the best teams in the world.

“These are for me Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United.

“I say quite honestly that I dream of one day playing for one of these teams, but I also say that I’ve always loved Schalke. My family and I have much to thank the club for.

“But my dream is still to play for the biggest club in Europe."
