The playmaker says he cannot see a reason to move in the foreseeable future but admits he cannot predict where his ambition for further titles will take him

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze has hinted that he may stay with the club for the rest of his career, but admitted his ambition means he cannot predict where his future lies.

The 20-year-old, who has emerged as one of the key players for Jurgen Klopp’s side over recent seasons despite missing much of their 2010-11 title-winning campaign due to injury, said that he sees no reason to move on from the Bundesliga champions at present.

“I feel very comfortable in the city of Dortmund where I have friends and family,” he told der Western.

“That speaks volumes for BVB. My contract runs until 2016, so there's no reason for me to think about anywhere else.”

The German international also believes his introduction into BVB’s first team has helped him mature both professionally and personally, but admits he cannot foresee where his career will take him.

"I want to win more titles and where that leads, I'll see," he said. "There are some things you cannot control."

He continued: “I have turned my hobby into a career. I have developed, become more mature. I try to be normal and focus on the fun of football and there aren't many things I'd rather be doing. I'm living out my dream.”

Dortmund currently trail Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich by 12 points at the mid-way point of the campaign and Gotze believes all the team can do is continue to pick up points in the hope that Bayern slip up.

“Whether we become champions depends a lot on Bayern, on us and on the other teams. We want to win as many points as possible in the second half of the season.”

The creative attacker also said he wants to be thought of alongside the best players in the world, adding: "It's every footballer's dream to be among the best, myself included. That should be the goal."
