Wiese remains defiant after Germany snub

The 30-year-old custodian is refusing to throw the towel in on his international career, even though he was ousted from the national side by Hannover's Ron-Robert Zieler
Hoffenheim goalkeeper Tim Wiese is remaining upbeat about his international future, despite losing his place in the German national side.

Hannover shot-stopper Ron-Robert Zieler was selected in his place for Wednesday night's friendly against Argentina, with Joachim Low keen to experiment with his squad.

"I respect the decision that younger keepers are given a chance now. If necessary, I'll be there," he told Sport Bild.

His 23-year-old replacement was unsurprisingly ecstatic with his inclusion and thanked Low for having faith in his ability.

"I always felt part of the team. It is nice to feel that the coach trusts me. I'm happy to be part of this," the youngster added.
