thumbnail Hello,

The agent of the Yellow Submarine striker denies any knowledge of a reported approach from the German club, despite the claims from the HSV hierarchy

Edwin Olde Riekerink, the agent of Villarreal striker Jonathan De Guzman, has stated that they know nothing of the supposed interest from Hamburg, despite sporting director Frank Arnesen having confirmed his club's interest in the player.

Speaking to the Hamburger Morgenpost, which had printed an article linking De Guzman to the German side, Riekerink claimed he had no recollection of an approach.

"This is news to me, we have absolutely no contact with Hamburg," he said.

But Arnesen did not deny that the club are interested in bringing the player to the Imtech Arena.

"He's a very good player. But nothing is yet signed, so we will provide no further comment."

Villarreal were relegated from La Liga on the final day of the season after a dramatic 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, whereas Hamburg finished just clear of the Bundesliga relegation zone in 15th.
