thumbnail Hello,

The Bavarian side's coach has stressed that his squad will need quality reinforcements during the off season as he hinted on a possible new midfield signing

Jupp Heynckes has insisted that things have to change at Bayern Munich if they are to be successful in the 2012-13 campaign.

The Bavarians missed out on the Bundesliga title, DFB Pokal and Champions League this term after finishing runners-up on all three fronts, and Heynckes has stressed that they need to improve their squad this summer.

"We need to change something. That's very clear to me," Heynckes stated to ARD.

"We will improve the quality of the squad. We won't just add depth to the team, but quality as well."

Heynckes feels that the Bavarians struggled to cope without Bastian Schweinsteiger during his injury absence, and has called for the signing of another midfielder.

"We missed Schweinsteiger a lot throughout the season. We will have to talk about whether we perhaps need another top-class midfielder."

Bayern have recently been linked with Real Madrid's Nuri Sahin, but the Turkey international has said that he is eager to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
