The likes of Atletico Madrid, Inter and Lyon are familiar faces, while Dnipro, Viktoria Plzen and Metalist Kharkiv will not be underestimated in Europe this seasonThe 2012-13 Europa League group stage has been completed and now only 32 teams remain in Europe's premier club competition.
As usual, the first round proper has thrown up a few shocks and surprises, but most of the big teams will be pleased to get through unscathed, despite a few scary moments along the way.
Below, we look at the 32 teams left in the competition ahead of the Uefa draw on December 20:
|ROUND OF 32 CONTENDERS
|Europa League Group Winners
||Europa League Group Runners Up
|Viktoria Plzen||Atletico Madrid
||Zenit St Petersburg|
|Metalist Kharkiv||Bayer Leverkusen|
The winners of each group plus the top four Champions league teams will be seeded, while the group runners-up and the bottom quartet of teams will be unseeded.
The unseeded teams will be drawn first ensuring they play their second leg of the tie away from home. Clubs cannot be paired with either winning teams from the same section or sides from the same country.
