The France midfielder believes their friendly clash with Los Blancos will tell them much about what shape they're in ahead of their return to competitive action against Brest
Laurent Blanc's men reached the winter break three points clear of Monaco at the top of Ligue 1, cruised through to the last 16 of the Champions League as winners of Group C and next weekend face Brest in the last 32 of the Coupe de France.
Matuidi, though, feels that Thursday's high-profile friendly with Madrid will tell PSG much about how well equipped they are to pull off a treble this season.
"Obviously it's a huge match on paper, but above all, it's a good chance to measure ourselves against another great team," he told his club's official website.
"To play against Real Madrid is always something incredible and we will give it our best shot.
"We also want to prepare as well as possible for our Coupe de France match against Brest [on January 5].
"It's always a good thing to prepare well for the second half of the season, especially somewhere hot like Qatar.
"This winter training camp bodes well for the future. We have to be ready to take on Brest."
