Roma can't steal Allegri from AC Milan, insists Galliani

The Milan chief has cooled reports linking Massimilano Allegri with a move to Roma and believes the Rossoneri are recapturing their form of two years ago

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed coach Massimiliano Allegri will remain with the Rossoneri amid reports he could fill the vacant Roma position.

The 45-year-old has found himself linked with a move to the Giallorossi in recent days following the dismissal of Zdenek Zeman, but the Milan chief has quashed the rumours, insisting Allegri will be at San Siro next term.

“Roma can’t steal coaches from other clubs. Allegri will still be the Milan boss next season," Galliani told reporters.

“He’s a good trainer and we’ve always known that. He reminds me of Carlo Ancelotti, for how balanced he is.”

Allegri's position with the Italian giants was believed to be under threat earlier in the campaign with the Rossoneri enduring a stuttering start to the season.

But Galliani believes the club's perseverance is paying off and Milan are recapturing their best form.

He added: “The club were right to not make a coaching change. Other clubs would not have done the same.

“We’re climbing back up the table and fighting for the positions that we always have done. We’re now travelling at our pace from the last two seasons.”

Milan are fourth, three points behind third-placed Lazio.
