Players are on the move, and are given some fond farewells from team-mates and peers alike, while others reveal how they are spending their free time in the summer

It's the middle of summer, and if players aren't finalising moves to pastures new, they are likely sunning themselves in the far reaches of the globe.

So what better way to say goodbye (or make everyone else feel jealous) than posting your news on the social networking behemoth that is Twitter? Here at Goal.com, we've taken a look at some of today's top tweets, and have rounded them all up for you, you lucky so and so's!

"Good luck to my mate #robertgreen on his move to #qpr great lad, great goalie and he'll do well there"

Ben Foster
gives his best wishes to QPR's new goalkeeper Robert Green following the announcement that he will join the club when his contract with West Ham runs out in July.

"It's been a pleasure to play with you, thanks for everything you've given to us. Wish you the best!"
Juan Mata is wishing a fond farewell to former Chelsea man Didier Drogba after he finalised his move to China with Shanghai Shenhua.

"Time 2 switch off my phone n relax in the sun"
Steven Pienaar goes ahead and makes the whole of England not currently jetting off to hotter climates a huge bowl of jealous.

"Great memories #Italia90 and so so close. Gazza's tears, Bobby Robson, Platt's volley, Cameroon pens and bloody Germans! #haveawordwithhim"
Gary Lineker relives the good old days when England reached the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup in Italy, who they face on Sunday in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012.

"Got a feeling that Portugal, Germany, Spain and England will win their games."
Joe Ledley gives us his picks for the quarter-finals, with Czech Republic facing Portugal in the first game on Thursday.

"Catching up on jersey shore still the best programme on telly. #gtlbaby"
Grant Holt reveals his rather questionable TV picks.

"Just had tattoo added to. look like an idiot now with my cling film arm!"
Norwich man Elliott Bennett reveals how he's spending his spare time in the summer. Tat's gotta be a bad look! (Sorry).

"Thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday! Appreciate the love! Had a fantastic day."
D'OH! One more footballer's birthday we've forgotten. Our card to Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic is in the post, rest assured!
