The Southampton captain continues to make his case for inclusion in England's squad for World Cup 2014 and his manager believes that there would not be a debate elsewhere
The attacking midfielder has led by example in a fine season so far for the Saints and was rewarded with his first international caps in November against Chile and Germany.
Pochettino believes that his captain would be good enough to make the Brazil or Spain squads, were he not English, and sees him as a unique talent among Roy Hodgson's options.
"In my opinion, if Adam Lallana had a Brazilian nationality, a Spanish nationality - if he were another [Juan] Mata, Oscar, [Eden] Hazard, or any of these type of players - for sure, he would be going with their national side," the Argentine told reporters.

"I truly believe that. Of course he is a very talented player, a very special player. I really like his characteristics as a player and hopefully he can be on that plane to Brazil because I think he fully deserves to be there.
"It is clear to anyone the talent that he has got. His progress is consistent. It's his second season in the Premier League so it's only normal that he's becoming even more professional and his progress is always on the up."
Lallana was on the scoresheet as Southampton beat Fulham 3-0 on Saturday and was joined by Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez, both of whom have also been recognised with international debuts in 2013-14.
Lambert's goal was his 100th league strike for the Saints and the skipper is full of admiration for their forward's efforts.
"He proved again what an unbelievable asset he is for us and without him we might not be in the Premier League - without his goals [we would be] in League One and the Championship," Lallana enthused.
"There was speculation with him during the transfer window so just to see him still here in the Southampton shirt means the world to not just me but the club itself.
"He is our talisman. We turn to Rickie and we've all got that respect for him. Again, he was outstanding and it is a real pleasure playing with him."
