Asprilla set to join Newcastle as youth coach
The 43-year-old has revealed he is poised to return to his former club in a coaching capacity and also hopes to bring more Colombian players to the Magpies in the future
Ex-Newcastle United striker Faustino Asprilla has revealed he is poised to return to his former club as a youth team coach.Asprilla enjoyed a two-spell at the Magpies after joining from Parma in 1996 and has revealed he is set take up his new role in March.
The 43-year-old also confirmed he hopes to help the club pick up the best talent from his native Colombia.
He told Radio Antena 2: “Some teams in England are going after the Spaniards, so I want Newcastle to fix their eyes on Colombian talent.”
Newcastle are currently enjoying an excellent run of form which has seen them win four of their last five matches and seal a place in the last-16 of the Europa League.
