Evra: Now is the time to show Manchester United are No.1
The 31-year-old pinpoints February as a crucial month for the Red Devils if they are to continue their quest for glory in both the Champions League and Premier League
Manchester United defender Patrice Evra insists that now is the time for his team-mates to show their mettle if they are to win trophies this season. The Red Devils are nine points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League and face Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16, with the first leg to be played on February 13.
And Evra believes that the United squad must start to peak now in order to avoid a repeat of the trophyless end to last season.
He told Inside United: "It's a really important time for us. It's important that we do well in the league in February but we also have the Champions League game against Real Madrid.
"This is the time when you have to win your games and show that Manchester United is the No.1 team. It won't be easy but this is the right moment.
"I am really happy with what we are doing in the league and the other competitions. Nobody forgets the big disappointment of losing the title last season.

"We just have to take it game by game and aim to win every match. That's the right attitude to have. In every game this season we have had the right attitude.
"That's why I think the fans and the players are very happy this year because we really want to show we are champions. We have to keep going that way."
