Tevez considering two-year Manchester City extension but dreaming of Boca Juniors return
The Argentina international reveals the club would like to extend his deal, which runs out next year, but that he is dreaming of a return to former club in his homeland
Carlos Tevez has revealed he is considering a contract offer from Manchester City, but has claimed he would like to move back to former club Boca Juniors. The striker's contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of next season, however, Goal.com revealed last month that the striker is considering letting his contract run down before returning to Boca next summer, and he has now admitted that a move back to his homeland would appeal.
"I've one year left on my deal and City want me to sign for two more seasons. I'll think about it," Tevez was quoted by The Sun.
"This year is different from last, when I wanted to end the contract with City. I'm happy here as they're treating me well.
"Sometimes I play, sometimes I don't, but that's okay."
"The will to return to Boca always exists, even more so with [Carlos] Bianchi as a manager," he told ESPN show 'Sportscenter'.
"I would like to wear the shirt of the team I love again."
Tevez also admitted that he does not feel worthy of a place in the Argentina national team anymore, as several better players are available in his position.
"Nowadays the Argentine national team have better strikers than me," he said. "A person must have the greatness to say the national team doesn't need him anymore.
"There are players nowadays that are a level above."
