The 21-year-old Belgian star admits he held talks with both Sir Alex Ferguson and the Russian and reveals it was the Stamford Bridge supremo who convinced him to move to London
The 21-year-old Belgian star, who officially signed for the club over the weekend after weeks of speculation, claims he held private conversations with both Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Abramovich, but it was the Russian oligarch that turned his head.
Despite the club currently being without a manager, the diminutive midfielder is confident that he has made the right decision.
"I spoke with Abramovich, he is very simple and loves football," Hazard told reporters.
"We were on the same wavelength, he wants to confirm Chelsea’s position at the top. Chelsea have made a good investment for me but I did not put any pressure on them.

"I’ve always said I wanted to play in England. There was a struggle between Chelsea and [Manchester] United, but according to me Chelsea has the best project."
The Belgium international attracted interest from a host of the Premier League's top clubs but insists Chelsea was the right move for him, suggesting he is likely to get more playing time with the west London side.
He added: "If I play well enough at Chelsea, I could win my place in the starting team and my priority is to play.
"I was in advanced contact with both clubs [Chelsea and Manchester United] and I spoke to both coaches. I want to be playing in the Champions League every year.
"When they won the Champions League, I told myself: 'Why not Chelsea?’ The team is young and I have a better chance to play there."
