thumbnail Hello,

Spanish playmaker claims that, despite getting used to the long, draining English season in his first campaign since joining from Valencia, winning alleviates any fatigue

Juan Mata insists that he has not been tired out Chelsea's long season, his first experience of the gruelling Premier League campaign.

The Spanish attacker, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Valencia last summer, started for the Blues as they beat Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup final on Saturday, but may be called upon for Tuesday's league match against the same opponents.

Chelsea are targeting a win over the Reds to boost their flagging hopes of Champions League qualification, but Mata argues that the highs of winning games are stopping him from feeling the exertions of the busy season too much.

"I have plenty of energy left," the forward told reporters.

"It is a long season and my first in England, but the benefits of winning easily outweigh the fatigue."

Liverpool will be desperate for revenge following their Wembley defeat and the Blues star insisted that the game at Anfield will be far from an easy task in what he bills as a must-win encounter.

"It's a hard stadium to play away at," he declared.

"Liverpool showed they have a great team and they are dangerous at Anfield. We have to win and still believe in playing the Champions League next year."
