The International arbitration body threw out an appeal from the Liberia Football Association against CAF’s recent electoral amendments

The Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) on Monday rejected the appeal made by the Liberia Football Association (LFA) against Caf on December 12, 2012, requesting provisional suspension and the cancellation of deliberations regarding the amendment to the eligibility requirements for Caf presidency.

Based on the arguments and explanations from Caf contesting the admissibility of the LFA’s appeal, the CAS ruled that the appeal was not admissible.

The LFA’s initial complaint against Caf was rejected by the Court of Arbitration of Sport on November 28, 2012.

Liberian officials have been contesting the new amendments adopted by Caf during its Extraordinary General Assembly held in Seychelles last September, which barred Cote D’Ivoire FA former president Jacques Anouma from running for the presidency of the African football body, set for next March.

The Ivorian has also lodged a case against Caf at the Court of Arbitration of Sport.
