Zambia, Cote D’Ivoire, Cape Verde nominated for best national team award

Caf has published the names of candidates for the rest of the categories for this year’s awards days after the body unveiled the shortlists for the players’ awards

Caf has released the nominees for the remaining categories of the 2012 GLO-CAF Awards scheduled for December 20 in Accra, Ghana. 

Reigning African champions Zambia, 2012 Afcon finalists Cote D’Ivoire, 2013 Afcon debutants Cape Verde and Central African Republic have been named as candidates for the National Team of the Year award.

In the Women’s National Team of the Year category, recently crowned African Women’s Champions, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana’s U-17 team that finished third in this year’s FIFA World Cup and Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be vying for this award.

Egyptian Mohamed Salah, who plays for Swiss club FC Basel, Senegalese striker Pape Moussa Konate and Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama have been nominated for the Most Promising Talent award.

CAF will announce the top three nominees for each category after the voting by CAF relevant Standing Committees, namely the Media, Technical and Football committees.
