Tanzania sack coach Jan Poulsen

The Taifa Stars will now be coached by another Dane by the same last name, Kim Poulsen, who was in charge of two junior Tanzanian national teams over the last year
Jan Poulsen has been sacked by Tanzania two months before the expiration of his two-year contract. According to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the former Armenia coach has been replaced by his countryman, Kim Poulsen, but reasons for his dismissal were not disclosed by the TFF.

The new coach of the Taifa Stars is on a one year contract while the former one leaves after a two-year tenure during which his most notable accomplishment was leading Tanzania to the 2010 Cecafa Cup.
"With [June's] World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers, TFF thought it a good idea to have a new coach after deciding not to continue with Jan Poulsen," the head of TFF Leodegar Tenga said.
"Kim has been around so he knows Tanzanian players very well," he added.

Kim has been in charge of the Under-17 and 20 teams over the last one year and he is expected to record an appreciable result in his first major outing against Cote d’Ivoire in their 2014 World Cup qualifier.
