The Atlas Lions will host the Syli Nationale in order to prepare for important 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania, Gambia, and Cote D’Ivoire
The Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF) has reportedly agreed to a proposal by its Guinean counterpart to host an international friendly between the national teams of both countries on August 15.
According to Al Massae, the Guinean side will have virtually no expenses as the FRMF will pay for transportation and lodging as well as marketing of the encounter which will serve as preparation for 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
The Atlas Lions had been tipped to face Zambia or Ghana instead but their match requests were turned down by the respective football federations of each country. However, Guinea should prove to be a worthy replacement considering the Syli Nationale’s impressive showing at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) despite their first round exit.
