The two sides, who have both qualified for the World Cup in Brasil next year, will meet at the at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston on Tuesday November 19
The fixture is part of the Gillette International Soccer Series that also features Argentina vs. Ecuador on November 15 in New York, Brazil vs. Honduras on November 16 in Miami, Argentina vs. Bosnia on November 18 in St. Louis and Brazil vs. Chile on November 19 in Toronto.
Honduras who recently qualified for their third World Cup, and second in a row, return for their second appearance at BBVA Compass Stadium having previously faced off against Peru last November. Los Catrachos, featuring the Houston Dynamo’s own Boniek Garcia and Wigan Athletic’s Roger Espinoza, are currently ranked 34th in the FIFA standings and qualified for the 2014 World Cup by finishing third in CONCACAF qualification.
The Ecuadorian National Football Team, affectionately known as La Tri by fans, are considered one of the premier teams in the world and led by Antonio Valencia and Felipe Caicedo, with over one-hundred combined international caps. They qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which will mark the team's third appearance in the World Cup, by finishing fourth in Conmebol qualification and are currently ranked 22nd in the FIFA rankings.
