Wales-Austria Betting Preview: In-form Gareth Bale to help the Dragons avoid defeat at the Liberty Stadium

Wales-Austria Betting Preview: In-form Gareth Bale to help the Dragons avoid defeat at the Liberty Stadium

Latest Barcelona-Sevilla Betting Preview: Back both teams to score at Camp Nou Previous

Marcel Koller's troops travel to Swansea to face Chris Coleman's side, and Jamie Dickenson is backing the Spurs man to keep up his goalscoring touch and earn his nation a draw

Austria travel to Swansea's Liberty Stadium to take on Wales in an international friendly, with both nations struggling in their respective World Cup Qualifying groups.

The visitors are the better placed however - fourth in Group C with four points from three games - and can be backed for victory with Bet Victor at 13/8 (2.63).

Wales are in a deeper mess in Group A - fifth out of six having taken three points from four games - but could utilise their home advantage and beat the Austrians at 9/5 (2.80).

With both sides picking up just one competitive win this season, managers in either dugout would probably settle for the draw, available at a quite reasonable 12/5 (3.40).

Austria have kept four clean sheets in their last six matches, and will hope to keep out a Welsh team that does look to be rather dangerous, at least on paper.

Star man Gareth Bale looks set for a central role judging from Chris Coleman's comments in the build up to this game, and the Tottenham man is in great goalscoring form at the moment.

Back-to-back goals in Spurs' recent trips to Norwich and West Brom prove the 23-year-old is in the mood, with his confidence highlighted in the quality of his strikes.

Having inspired his nation to a 2-1 win over Scotland in October with two goals in the last 10 minutes, Wales will turn to Bale again against Austria.

At 5/1 (6.0) to open the deadlock Bale is a tempting punt, but backing him to score anytime at 11/8 (2.38) could be a wiser move.

Austria's squad includes a host of players from the German Bundesliga, but names like West Ham's on-loan defender Emanuel Pogatetz, Bayern Munich youngster David Alaba and Aston Villa striker Andreas Weimann will be familiar to British fans.

As an improving outfit the Austrians will hope to get something from the game, but Wales manager Chris Coleman is optimistic himself having welcomed back Craig Bellamy and Jack Collison to the fold.

Add Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen to that mix and the Welsh side appears stronger than it has been for years, and they are good enough to earn a draw. At 12/5 (3.40) the draw looks a lot more tempting than backing either of these sides in the outright market.
