Stoke City - Crystal Palace Betting Preview: Expect Potters to return to form

Latest West Ham United-Tottenham Hotspur Betting Preview: Brilliant Bale can inspire Spurs again Previous

Tony Pulis' men suffered defeat against Chelsea at the weekend, but Al Hain-Cole expects them to put that defeat behind them with a convincing win when the Eagles visit

Bet: Returns: Crystal Palace $30.00 Draw $32.00 Watford $23.70 Ladbrokes
After playing out a creditable FA Cup draw against Stoke City at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace’s reward is a daunting replay in the Premier League team’s own back yard.

Saturday’s 4-0 defeat to Chelsea was the Potters’ first in 18 games at the Britannia Stadium, and will only make them more determined to bounce back straight away by winning on Tuesday.

Considering their own dominance at home, and the fact that Palace have not won any of their last six on the road, Tony Pulis’ men should have little trouble in securing the victory, and must be backed at handy 8.13 (1.62) odds with William Hill.

The Eagles were absolutely flying at the beginning of the season, but with just one win in their last eight matches, have gone off the boil somewhat.

It would be a big shock should they somehow pull off an upset in this tie, at odds of 9/2 (5.50).

Ian Holloway’s side have drawn three of their last five away trips, and you can get odds of 13/5 (3.60) on them taking this match into extra time with a stalemate in Staffordshire.

Although Wilfried Zaha has been grabbing all the headlines for Palace after making his international debut and prompting interest from several of the country’s biggest clubs, the visitors' main goal threat is the less-celebrated Glenn Murray.

The striker is the top scorer in the Championship this season with an impressive 22 goals in 23 matches, and his presence was missed in the home game against Stoke.

With him back in the side, the Eagles will be much more confident of hitting the back of the net, and he is not to be missed at 2/1 (3.00) to score anytime.

This bet is particularly attractive as Murray is the club’s designated penalty taker, and those services could well be called upon against a team that have conceded three spot kicks in their last five outings. Although Murray may find the back of the net, Stoke look decent value for the win and should be the main selection here at 8/13 (1.62).
