Sunderland - Manchester City Betting Preview: Why both teams to score looks the best bet
With the Black Cats finding the back of the net regularly in recent weeks, Phil Kitromilides believes neither side will keep a clean sheet at the Stadium of Light
The Premier League champions travel to the Stadium of Light on Boxing Day hoping to exact revenge for the dramatic defeat they suffered there on New Year's Day last season.Ji Don Wong's injury time winner back on the 1st of January 2012 gave Sunderland a 1-0 win and Paddy Power price them at 5/1 (6.00) to repeat that feat by claiming another victory.
City meanwhile, who are unbeaten in their last 11 away matches in the league, can be backed at 4/7 (1.57) to pick up three points with the draw offered at 14/5 (3.80).
There could be a temptation to back over 2.5 goals in this game given that this bet has paid out in 15 of Manchester City's competetive games so far this season as well as in nine matches involving Sunderland. It is offered at a price of 8/11 (1.73) yet perhaps a more tempting prospect is to invest in both teams to score which is available at the same price 8/11 (1.73).
This bet has paid out in seven of Sunderland's last nine games and with City's only clean sheet in their last five games coming against bottom side Reading, the Black Cats will fancy their chances of getting at least one goal, especially when you consider the fact that they have netted four times in their last three meetings with the Blues.
For a value bet try backing Yaya Toure to continue his decent scoring run by netting at anytime priced at what looks like an attractive 13/5 (3.60). The influential midfielder has scored twice in his last three games, and is an excellent option for an anytime scorer bet.
