After three winning selections over the weekend, our Spanish expert Phil Kitromilides is backing a victory for the hosts tonightTonight's match in Andalusia sees a meeting between two sides who intrigue and frustrate in equal measure.
Sevilla have performed inconsistently this season, while Valladolid play some extremely attractive football without always getting the results they deserve.
If both sides play to their ability then the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan should witness an aesthetically appealing encounter, one which William Hill make Sevilla the favourites for at 3/4 (1.75). Valladolid meanwhile
can be backed at 4/1 (5.00) with the draw offered at 12/5 (3.40).
Yet despite the somewhat erratic nature of the side, the evidence points towards a home win this evening. The only side to have beaten Sevilla at their cavernous, crumbling and atmospheric stadium in the last seven months is Barcelona, and even then the Catalans needed a remarkable second-half turn around and two late goals to claim all three points in the Sanchez Pizjuan.
Against Real Madrid and more recently in their derby with Betis, the Andalusians were utterly scintillating and although they are missing some personnel through injury and suspension, the price of 3/4 (1.75) for them to win at home against a Valladolid side who have been poor away on the road looks to hold some value.
Indeed Valladolid have lost four of their last five matches away from home and if the hosts play to their strengths they should be more than capable of inflicting another defeat on the side who were promoted from the second division in the summer.
For a value bet, try backing a Sevilla win and under 2.5 goals to be scored which is available at 3/1 (4.00).
