Galatasaray - Manchester United Betting Preview: Do not bet against Ferguson's squad men in Istanbul

Galatasaray - Manchester United Betting Preview: Do not bet against Ferguson's squad men in Istanbul

With Manchester United already through to the Champions League knockout stages, Sir Alex Ferguson will make changes, but Adam Bate will not be betting against United

The Red Devils make their return to ‘hell’ when they face Galatasaray in Istanbul. But some of the fire has been taken out of this clash because Manchester United have already qualified.

As a result, the home side need the points rather more than visitors and that influences many of the prices for this one, especially after the announcement that Sir Alex Ferguson will rest several first team players including Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

Galatasaray are in second spot but could be bottom by the end of the night if they lose here in their final home game in Group H.

Despite that, and unsurprisingly given the changes that United will make, Galatasaray are available at a shade under Evens (1.98) to win here with Marathon Bet.

Even with the changes, there are some who would argue that the likes of Anderson and Ashley Young should be in the team anyway and Danny Welbeck will be itching for the chance to get some time on the pitch.

United are 14/5 (3.80) with Marathon Bet to maintain the only 100 per cent record in this season’s Uefa Champions League. The draw is available at 29/10 (3.90).

Even the United double chance is a chunky looking 9/10 (1.90) with Marathon Bet. That is some price given Galatasaray have failed to win either of their last two league games.

United have won 14 of their 18 matches this season and are a squad used to rotation. Backing United in the double-chance market is the pick of the bets here.

Elsewhere, over 2.5 goals could also be of interest if you are not so confident in United’s young guns at the back.

That has paid out in 11 of Galatasaray’s 17 games this season and a whopping 15 of United’s 18 matches. It is available at 81/100 (1.81) with Marathon Bet.

But the value bet is to back United to win from behind yet again.

They did not manage it against Norwich on Saturday, but they have won after falling a goal behind in eight of their 18 games this season.

It is available at 11/1 (12.00) with Marathon Bet and that is a huge price given the form book.
