thumbnail Hello,

Our Spanish expert Phil Kitromilides believes injuries and the International break mean Jose Mourinho's men might take a while to get going at the Bernabeu

Newly-promoted Celta Vigo head to the Bernabeu for their first match against Real Madrid in five years, yet the side from Galicia have some extremely fond memories of recent trips to the capital's biggest stadium.

Indeed, Celta have won their last two away games against Madrid and have lost only one of their last five matches at the Bernabeu.

Only Barcelona have a better recent record away to Los Blancos, but despite favourable some results in Madrid, Celta remain rank outsiders to repeat another victory on Saturday night, with William Hill pricing them at 25/1 (26.00) to claim all three points. A home win meanwhile can be backed at 1/12 (1.08) with the draw offered 17/2 (9.50).

If the bookies are confident in a victory for the champions, Celta's away form this season will only serve to underline that belief, with Paco Herrera's side losing all four games on the road this season.

Madrid, for their part, remain unbeaten at home in all competitions, and anything other than a win for Jose Mourinho's men is almost inconceivable.

Yet after the international break and with a mounting injury list (Marcelo, Fabio Coentrao and Alvaro Arbeloa will all miss the match) Madrid may find themselves to be a little sluggish and the price of 10/11 (1.91) for more goals to be scored in the second half than first, looks extremely tempting.

That Madrid will ultimately prevail is natural, but expect the Galicians to put up a solid resistance, and the price for more goals in the second is big enough to consider for some serious investment.

For a value bet, back Madrid to score three or more second half goals at 5/2 (3.50) with Los Blancos usually extremely motivated in the second period of matches particularly if they have failed to make any significant progress in the opening 45 minutes.
