Giuseppe Mascara hopes to meet Maradona after confirming Al Nasr move

The former Napoli striker has announced he is heading to Dubai for a deal with Walter Zenga's side, while he also hopes to meet the Argentine legend
Giuseppe Mascara has confirmed he will join Walter Zenga's UAE outfit Al Nasr and says he hopes to meet Argentien legend Diego Maradona when he moves to Dubai.

The 32-year-old former Napoli and Catania striker announced his departure from Novara for Al Nasr and is now expected to complete a one-year deal with Al Nasr, whom he had a medical with last month.

“I had wanted to stay with Novara, but the club told me that if there was an important offer then I could evaluate it and eventually the one from Al Nasr seemed like the best possible," Mascara explained.

“In Italy there is a different mentality, we play a competitive football where at least four teams compete at the top and at least two until the very end."

Mascara, who spent almost 12 months at Maradona's former club Napoli in 2011, added he'd love to meet the Argentine who is currently coaching Al Wasl.

"In Dubai there are many great characters. Diego Maradona? To meet him would be the dream of my life,” Mascara said.
