Ramires: Hulk will have no trouble adapting at Chelsea

Ramires: Hulk will have no trouble adapting at Chelsea

Latest Question of the Day: Who will be the key player in Tuesday night's Clasico? Previous

The midfielder is excited by the Blues' reported interest in the 25-year-old Porto forward and believes his Brazil team-mate would add quality to the west London outfit

Chelsea midfielder Ramires has welcomed reports of the Blues' pursuit of Porto striker Hulk, saying his Brazil team-mate will have no problem adapting to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old looks set to become the next Europe-based star to secure a move to west London, as Chelsea continue to capitalise on their Champions League win last season.

The young Belgian star has agreed a deal and passed a medical at Stamford Bridge

And Ramires says that he and fellow Brazilian David Luiz will make the former Tokyo Verdy forward feel at home at Stamford Bridge.

"I am following from here in Brazil the news about Hulk's probable signing for Chelsea,” Ramires told reporters.

“It seems he is coming. I played with him in the Brazilian team, we were on opposing side when I played for Benfica and he would definitely add a lot to the team.

“If it was up to me it would already be settled. With the personality that he has, he will come, put on the shirt and start playing.

"He will not have any problem adapting. Both me and David Luiz will make him feel at home quickly. I hope it all works out."

The former Benfica man also went on to reveal that he has split loyalties ahead of Euro 2012 due to the number of nationalities in the Chelsea dressing room.

But, he admitted that Spain were his favourites to win the tournament, adding that he believes Fernando Torres and Juan Mata have what it takes to be among the most impressive players in Poland and Ukraine.

He added: “I am going to support England and Spain as they are the teams with most Chelsea players; and Portugal because of the affection I have for their people as well as my friendship with [Raul] Meireles.

“We have other team-mates in the competition as well like [Florent] Malouda in France, and I hope that some of those can play a big part in the competition. It would be great for Chelsea.

“If I had to choose a favourite, I would be talking about Spain. They are the current world champions and they have the most settled team.

“[Fernando] Torres and [Juan] Mata have everything needed to go far and fight for the best player award, but the Euros are a difficult and unpredictable competition.

“We will definitely see some great games.”
