Kevin Mirallas scoops Greek Super League Player of the Season accolade
Belgian striker earns recognition for topping the goalscoring charts in Greece this season while helping Olympiakos win domestic double
Olympiakos striker Kevin Mirallas has been rewarded for his top form in the Greek Super League this season with the Player of the Season award. The Belgian striker, transferred from Ligue 1 outfit Lille back in 2008, has made a big impact in Greece as he helped his team secure a 15th league and cup double in 2011-2012 with a total of 20 goals in 25 appearances. His coach Ernesto Valverde also won the Coach of the Season trophy.
Olympiakos's dominance was complete as homegrown 21-year-old midfielder Giannis Fetfazidis earned the Goal of the Season award for a subtile lob against Atromitos to give the club's fans a consolation for their early exit in the Champions' League earlier in the season.
Other distinguished individuals were Panathinaikos prospect Stefanos Kapino with the Save of the Season prize while the Young player of the Year award went to Greece Under-21 international from Xanthi FC Panagiotis Vlachodimos.
